Lovely hundred-and-five year-old Gibson mandolin with a very sweet tone and excellent action. Genuinely a player’s instrument in affordable, collectable form. $3800.00 plus Texas sales tax and/or shipping.

The sound offered by the three-point body is distinct from that of Gibson’s A and standard F models, characterized by a bit less volume and a more bell-like tone. As such, this instrument excels in acoustic old-timey stringband, folk, Celtic, singer-songwriter, and world music settings, while also offering a unique sound for bluegrass in a context where absolute sound pressure level is not highly prioritized.

Presently hanging for sale at Fiddler’s Green Music Shop, Austin’s premier all-acoustic instrument store and service center. Contact Ben Hodges. Ask him to play it for you over the phone, or go play it and see for yourself what this is all about.

Hank & Shaidri Secure Management Deal

Hank & Shaidri have signed with Loophole Entertainment in Austin, Texas. Loophole’s clients include Los Lonely Boys, Sahara Smith, Omar Dykes, SPEAK, The Steps, The Dunwells, and Michelle Armstrong. The firm also operates the Playing in Traffic record label, distributed internationally by Sony’s Red division.

“Shaidri and I have been working out of Austin since the spring of 2008, steadily developing our acoustic duo”, said Alrich. “Working with Loophole brings us the benefits of their experience and contacts, and their knowledge of the worldwide contemporary music business. We are thrilled to have this opportunity.”

Kevin Wommack founded Loophole Entertainment in 1982, and quickly became highly regarded for his competence, integrity, and imagination. “We are very excited to be working with Hank and Shaidri who bring not only the unmistakable father/daughter bond to their music, but also create a unique blend of bluegrass, Americana, folk and that Austin vibe which makes it truly special”, Wommack said.
